Why is Poland one of the best places to outsource software development?

00:00 → 00:02

We spent a lot of time looking at developers,

00:02 → 00:06

and we've actually gone through this process before and had bad

00:06 → 00:07

experiences with with developers.

00:07 → 00:09

We were a complete new startup,

00:09 → 00:12

and we decided to go with outsource because of the

00:12 → 00:15

possibility of quickly expanding a team or

00:15 → 00:19

start with a smaller team and quickly expanding if need comes.

00:19 → 00:20

For the past eight or nine years,

00:20 → 00:23

I've been working with an offshore development team over

00:23 → 00:26

in India, and I I grew tired of the

00:26 → 00:29

process to develop anything.

00:29 → 00:33

Choosing the right direction for software development is one

00:33 → 00:36

of the greatest dilemmas of modern businesses.

00:36 → 00:40

We ask our clients which factors encourage them to pick

00:40 → 00:41

Poland.

00:41 → 00:43

I'd I there was a lack of input.

00:44 → 00:46

I there was a lot of work on my end to be able to build

00:46 → 00:50

everything out for them and it described things very very specifically.

00:50 → 00:52

And so when we searched for a new provider,

00:52 → 00:54

we didn't wanna look in India.

00:54 → 00:55

So then we started looking elsewhere.

00:55 → 00:58

We actually ended up looking in America first.

00:58 → 01:01

We tried working with a couple local shops,

01:01 → 01:03

that did not end up working out either.

01:03 → 01:05

So then we started to do a lot more research.

01:05 → 01:08

We found that Europe in general actually had the best

01:08 → 01:10

programmers in the world based on different various reports

01:10 → 01:12

that are out there and so we focused on Europe.

01:12 → 01:15

When we started this, we did look at different teams

01:15 → 01:16

from different areas of the world.

01:16 → 01:20

And what we noticed across the span was the further west you

01:20 → 01:21

went or the further east you went,

01:21 → 01:25

the less input on the product they wanted to have in the east

01:25 → 01:27

and the more input they wanted in the west.

01:27 → 01:29

And the further east you came,

01:29 → 01:32

the more they wanted you to tell exactly what you want,

01:32 → 01:34

and then they could build it.

01:34 → 01:37

And we found the middle way in Poland to be good

01:37 → 01:39

technological expertise,

01:39 → 01:42

but also willingness to learn about the project and having

01:42 → 01:45

kind of a bouncing back and forth the ideas.

01:45 → 01:48

The skills of the developers are very important

01:48 → 01:53

in the sense that we we want to make sure that the UI is

01:53 → 01:55

is is good and easy to use,

01:55 → 01:58

but we also need understanding from the developers.

01:58 → 02:02

And business analysis, and understanding is so important

02:02 → 02:05

to having the the product, you know,

02:05 → 02:07

really come out how you want it to.

02:07 → 02:09

We don't need them to understand something different

02:09 → 02:11

than we're trying to convey,

02:11 → 02:15

and I think that Marek Studio really did a great job of of

02:15 → 02:17

understanding what we needed.

02:17 → 02:20

We were going between Merixstudio and a company out of Ukraine

02:20 → 02:22

and also a company out of Russia,

02:22 → 02:24

and ultimately what what happened was we really liked

02:24 → 02:27

the proven processes that Merixstudio had in place,

02:27 → 02:28

we liked the documentation that they had,

02:28 → 02:30

we liked the formal process,

02:30 → 02:33

we really liked the idea of a workshop and being able to have

02:33 → 02:35

these conversations and discuss everything so that's when we

02:35 → 02:38

ended up working with Merixstudio and choosing them.

02:39 → 02:41

And then going through with the workshop,

02:41 → 02:42

I was really we were all very excited about it.

02:42 → 02:44

We liked the idea of doing it in person.

02:44 → 02:46

I felt like they would be,

02:46 → 02:48

much more efficient.

02:48 → 02:49

We could save a lot of time.

02:49 → 02:53

We could be able to expedite the process and and really

02:53 → 02:57

get the project off and and and working very well from the very beginning.

02:57 → 03:01

So we we went look globally and Poland

03:01 → 03:03

came up on the list.

03:03 → 03:06

And so Merixstudio reached out to us,

03:06 → 03:09

when we requested an RFP, and basically,

03:09 → 03:10

they had the best pitch.

03:10 → 03:12

They they were very professional.

03:12 → 03:15

Every, every time we got into detail

03:15 → 03:19

about, certain parts of our, product,

03:19 → 03:23

they were very, very interested in in what we needed

03:23 → 03:26

and questioned why we did certain things,

03:26 → 03:30

and and that made us very attracted to to their

03:30 → 03:32

attention to detail and and the product itself.

03:32 → 03:35

The fact that we started a year before the pandemic really

03:35 → 03:39

started gave us the chance to get,

03:39 → 03:42

yeah, more working together with the dedicated team and

03:42 → 03:46

actually work on Slack channels or work on our communication

03:46 → 03:49

skills basically, which meant that when the

03:49 → 03:51

pandemic came, we had a much easier time.

03:51 → 03:54

So the fact is we haven't been here for two years now,

03:54 → 03:57

and now we're visiting to make sure that everything or set a

03:57 → 04:00

new set a new lines for the project going forward.

04:00 → 04:03

We're hoping to grow now and to expand our team in Merricks and

04:03 → 04:08

to, yeah, basically take the next step into a medium to

04:08 → 04:11

larger sized company where we can deliver yeah,

04:11 → 04:16

have more customers and deliver more engagement to our, yeah, the end users.

Let's connect and build together
