With the start of the new year come both new year resolutions and looking back on what happened in the previous twelve months. If needed to be summarised by one word, for our software house 2018 was all about growth. Growth when it comes to the number of employees, events we organized, projects we added to our portfolio, or charities we’ve helped. Here’s a summary of the most important things we did last year.

World Usability Day conferences take place in many cities all over the world, but the one I personally appreciate most is WUD Silesia. What I really like about it is the selection of speakers from different disciplines which gives the wider point of view on the subject. This time the main theme was: “Unexpected outcome. An impact on the state of the human - yesterday, today, tomorrow”.

Last minute Christmas shopping? Looking for some gift for this weird cousin who works in IT but nobody understands what he’s actually doing? Don’t panic! We’ve done some job for you, made internal research and selected best presents we would like to give ourselves. On 24 November 2018, in our office in Poznan, we organised another edition of the event branded by Merixstudio. It was the third time when we met during Dev College Combo - a combination of practical workshops and technical talks. Once again software-related topics took over the day.

On the 27th of September, I had a great chance to take a deeper look into the scene of the Hauptstadt. My main goal was to visit the famous Silicon Allee, but many things happen in a meanwhile.

It may seem that with the summer coming to an end the fun will subdue in our software house. Nothing more wrong! This month actually was more fun since not only more people are in the office, but also because we finished some internal projects that started during the sun-filled months. End of August is a special time for Merixstudio. Hallways empty since the core of our Python developers pack up and leave the office to take part in Python’s most important Polish event - PyCon PL. Hosted in Ossa this edition spanned over 4 days and featured plenty of interesting lectures and workshops. Here is our insight into what we’ve experienced during the event.

I don't know how it happened, but Summer is almost gone. With it comes colder weather and less sun, but on the other hand finally, the majority of the office will be on-site instead of on some lavish vacations! Not that I'm not happy about their well-deserved rest, but now it's time to get back to work and dazzle the world with the power of great web development.
