  Once again we had the opportunity to attend Warsaw Recruitment Day, the biggest conference in Poland dedicated to employer branding, newest technologies and best HR techniques. This time Anita and Maciek , basing on case study of Merix Wars, were talking about Real Time marketing in recruitment. Judging by the tweets that were written during their presentation, our coworkers did a really good job and they left the audience in awe thanks to their lighthearted delivery, great jokes and solid knowledge. Of course, we are not surprised by that - Anita and Maciek, among others, are responsible for winning the Best Corporate Blog of the Year award or the Special Award at EB Kreator Gala!

  As probably many of you, we are slowly starting the spring cleaning process in our office. The preparation for warmer weather started in the kitchen, which has undergone a small metamorphosis by refreshment of the color on the walls. Currently, the smell of paint is only a memory and our breaks from work definitely became even brighter and more enjoyable! In the corner of the photo you can see that the difference is quite noticeable – maybe by getting rid of the dim colors we will also change this dim, dreadful weather?

  Probably many of you excitedly awaited the premiere of Deadpool – we couldn’t get this polite, well-mannered young man out of our heads. Because of that we created Drupool, who helps us with recruitment of Drupal Developers.   Kasia, our Account Manager, wrote an article for mamstartup.pl, where she described what it's like to start the project and explained that you should not worry about spec at the offer stage of the work. As she said "(...)website is not a piece of cake, it is a process". We couldn't agree more - the campaign of Zulu Alpha Kilo shows in a great and truly hilarious way what we think about the "it will look good in your portfolio" approach. But, don't listen to us, read the article and find out why at the beginning of the work you should think about evaluation of the project rather than the spec!

  In previous summaries you could get used to seeing the same people, therefore I decided to give Krzysiek and Wiesiek some rest and chose Marcins #GeekShirtFriday as the geeky shirt of the month. Our Front End Developer is new to this competition, but he posed like our GeekShirt tytans! Marcin is nothing like Jules or Vincent, so we don’t have to worry about his uninvited visits in our homes or about him stealing our Big Kahuna burgers. But just to be safe we are trying to listen carefully what he has to say, so he won’t have to repeat himself – it could end quite unpleasantly.

  In previous summaries you had the opportunity to meek Gacek and Feta, two of our furry friends that helped us in raising the morale of the office. This month we decided to change things a little bit and instead of barkers we were visited by a little meower! It all happend thanks to Marcin, who (despite wearing a dog shirt) is a proud owner of Luna, the cutest kitten you have ever seen. As you can see on the photo, apart from being a graceful it-girl of the office, she also took the opportunity to check whether we have a clean space under (and behind) our desks. Even a smallest nooks and crannies couldn’t escape her attention! Luckily, we passed the test and Luna did not end up as a gray cat at the end of her visit. ;) If you want to see more photos, check out our Instagram and Facebook - after all, there is nothing more admired on the Internet that cats!

  February is the time of love, but at Merixstudio we are nice to each other every day! Therefore, we put the biggest emphasis on celebrating our great love for the sweet, fried food during Fat Friday! Our kitchen was flooded with literally hundred (we counted!) donuts! Quite strangely, not a lot of people ate lunch after that, we don’t know why ... That day was delicious, unhealthy and fun - once in a while you have to forget about diets and allow yourself to have a treat.However, now we are back to eating fruits that Krzysiek delivers several times a week. It is still delicious, but our clothes have a better fit.

  The fact that the lack of progress means regress is well known for our Project Managers. Because of that on one of their many meetings they decided to focus on what we can do to improve our work. Their conversation was filled with heated discussions, browsing through notes and combating even the slightest problem that we faced in Merixstudio. No working tool can feel safe - change is coming!

  Last month we wrote about the Grand Tournament of Rock-Paper-Scissors. After many exciting games we can finally reveal that won Michał (aka Kopyto), the Team Leader of Drupal Development Team. He is the perfect winner - there is nobody as calm and nice as he is, therefore we don't have to worry about him becoming big headed. :) As promised, our champions will receive prizes, but if you want to find out what those are, you will have to follow our Instagram profile! Soon we will have a "big closing ceremony" so stay tuned, it's forth the wait!

  In addition to fatty food and interesting training courses, this month was mainly about WORK! Our summaries of the month might have given you the impression that we do nothing else but eat or make jokes. Remember, however, that we could not do it without spending many productive hours over our duties first. Anita, with skill worthy of the best undercover agent, has managed to capture the moment of the hard work, in which, as you can see, we were so focused that we did not pay attention to what was happening around us. On the other note, I would like to emphasize that we don’t have a shortage in the office chair supplies – sometimes floor is just as comfortable place to sit as any other! ;)
