It’s Monday, so as you all know it’s time for #MeetMerix! Today we want to introduce you to @maciejush, our Senior Project Manager! 👋 Maciej has been working here for 7,5 years and you probably recognize him from our videos. 🎥 Maciej loves to share his knowledge, which is not always strictly related to project management. The series of API vlogs that you can find on our Youtube channel is an excellent example of this. ▶️ That’s basically why you can often find him in our office standing in front of the camera. But that’s not the only way Maciej likes to share his knowledge. You can also meet him on events, like for example on PUMEX - our event dedicated to Project Managers and Product Designers. If he has enough time, he also willingly writes blog posts and helps in editing and proofreading. His passion for Project Management is not only about sharing, but, of course, also about gaining knowledge. 📚 Taking courses and obtaining Scrum certificates is a piece of cake not only for him but also for our entire Project Management team! When we used to work from the office more often than now, Maciej liked to play Magic: The Gathering during his lunch break. He spends his spare time actively in the bosom of nature, especially riding a bike! 🚴‍♂️ . #merixstudio #merixpeople #poznan #poland #software #softwarehouse #networking #community #hobby #passion #ourpassions #ourpeople #team #teamwork #lovemyjob #office #officelife #itidustry #colleagues #folks #projectmanager #PM #projectmanagement

But before I tell you about all of the new things, let’s stick to the tradition. Every Monday, we introduce one person from our group in the #MeetMerix series. We tell you about their job and how their personalities, hobbies, and overall demeanor influence us. In September, you were able to learn more about Maciej, one of our LEGO enthusiasts, another Maciej, whom you might remember from our API vlogs, Kuba, who’s a walking and talking encyclopedia of knowledge about Poznań’s culinary world, and Magda, a calm soul that can teach you a thing or two about movies.

front.radar to your service!

Another thing you know (and hopefully love!) is front.radar, our meetup for frontend community. No matter how much we miss seeing you in person and eating bread with hummus/lard (which used to be a staple whenever we organized something), we bear your safety in mind and hold meetups online. However, we’re happy to inform you that luckily this temporary change in format doesn’t affect the quality of our hang! In September, we were able to share knowledge on Deno and wonder whether it will surpass Node.js as well as talk about serverless REST API with the use of JavaScript, AWS Lambda, and serverless framework. Check out the video above if you missed it - luckily, our live broadcasts are always available to watch after the event!

Speaking of live broadcasts, it’s time to tell you about something really exciting that took place last month. On September 30th, we celebrated International Podcast Day – and we did it by going live with Piątki po Deployu! Miłosz and Mateusz took on a subject of the biggest myths about developers and discussed whether there’s a kernel of truth in them. The cool thing’s that all the tales were submitted by you, our listeners! In addition to that, since this episode was broadcasted on stream, you were able to react in real-time and we could interact with each other! Hopefully, it was not the last time we were able to do so – it was definitely fun, not only for us but seem like also for you!

Let's talk about your product launch

Seems like we were really eager to interact with you – in September, we not only had a live podcast but also a Live Linkedin Session! Michał, Kasia, and Łukasz collaborated to help you ensure that your product launch will go swimmingly. They covered different formulas for launching digital products, answered your questions, and delved deep into this important topic revealing all the secrets of MVPs, Proof of Concepts, and prototypes. And if you were unable to participate in it last month but you crave both business and UX knowledge, check it out on our Linkedin profile!

Run, Merix, run! 🏃‍♀️Yesterday we participated in Poland Business Run - an annual charity run which we do not miss every year. As you can see, some of us met on Wartostrada to run together🏞️, but others were spotted all over the world, for instance in Gdańsk or in Birmingham! 🗺️ Regardless of the place, we're happy we were able to have some fun and do some charitable work together! 🧡

As you know pretty well, September means Business Run! Per our tradition, we wanted to join this noble, charitable initiative. With this year’s changes, however, we were unable to run in a big group of every runner in Poznań. It didn’t squash our spirits – instead, most of us met on a sunny Sunday and run on Wartostrada, one of the best places in Poznań you can choose for a run! Other runners in our group were scattered all over the world, starting from Gdańsk and ending with Birmingham!

No surprised there – yet another way we shared our expertise

Ok, we had our short break for sports news, now back to knowledge! We clearly were all about sharing our expertise with everyone because, in addition to live broadcasts and events, we also participated in Bee Talents podcast about recruitment marketing and Just Join IT’s debate about developers’ situation in the pandemic. Both topics are quite important at the moment so if you haven’t been able to check them out, I highly recommend you do so! After all, there’s no such thing as too much knowledge! ;)

Join us!

As you may expect, we wouldn’t be able to acquire all this knowledge without working hard on our projects! And to excel at them, we’re constantly on the lookout for great colleagues! So if you’re interested in joining our team and finding our for yourself that we’re diverse, fun, and easy to work with, check out our job offers, apply, and let’s create something great together!
