10 reasons why working in Merixstudio is not only about work (October edition)

Thanks to Meet Merix you already had the opportunity to get to know a large part of our employees, what is their part in our company and what they do in their free time. In interviews published by Anita it is highly visible that each of us is unique - in our group you can find fans of FC Barcelona, text games and websites dedicated to celebrity gossips. :) However, we are very fortunate that the differences lead to the friendly atmosphere rather than to squabbles. I try to capture this on our Instagram profile and due to the fact that October is coming to an end, check out the list of moments that have particularly sunk in our memory.

   It's starting to be a tradition that our Merix team goes bowling once in a while. However, we are starting to be a little suspicious - every time we have different winner ... We can only suspect that somebody has to mess with timing of pizza delivery - when it comes to delicious Italian food, no one can pay attention to the game! Afterparty, the most interesting part of the evening, I will leave to kitchen gossiping - we have to save our faces in the media ;)

    Most people, regardless their nationality, age or income, wait with dread for the first "Last Christmas" they will hear in the mall or on the radio. We decided to save ourselves from this suspense and listened to the song of Georges heartbreak in October. Well, maybe not WE decided, but who has the access to the speakers, has the power .;)

    We had the opportunity to turn ourselves info English gentelmen (or into Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman)! Somebody had left their hair tie in one of our bathrooms and that king of misfortune obviously needed a through investigation. At the third day after the cruel abandonment we grabbed the hat and the monocle to find some clues on the murder scene. It only took about half an hour to capture the culprit - I highly recommend our duo for any future investigations!

    Miłosz and Krzysiek led a Django workshop - if you want to know a little more about it, check out our blog post, where you can find out what it's like to be our student. Once more, the best (and by that I mean the least attractive) photos are hidden on our hard drive, where they are patiently waiting for a little blackmailing opportunity ;) At the end of the workshop everyone was tucking into pizzas - do I spot a theme of October?

    In preparation for the Poznan Game Arena, Anita beautifully posed with Kopanito stickers. Being efficient and not wasting any of the precious time, we used the #PGA hashtag in the description of the picture. Unfortunately, it attracted golf fans (PGA Tour) and our broke our record in amount of likes! The thing that really amused us was that this photograph was noticed by the profile that is charmingly named Golf Babes - Anita, you're our official Miss Golf 2015, wait for your new sash and tiara! ;) I'm not saying that we have a competition among our employees for the most liked picture, but right now Anita is in the lead.

    Our Kopanito team did not spend their weekend on being couch potatoes - instead of that they were having fun among the crowd of people visiting our booth at the Poznań International Fair.     The hard work of our Game Developers paid off - we won the Best Indie Game Award! Now we just have to keep an eye on them to check whether they are become big-headed with all this admiration ;) As part of better being safe than sorry, we are keeping them as busy as possible - so far our plan is working!

    We had three reasons to be excited for the Back to The Future Day. Fist of all, we were still deluded that we will finally ditch traffic jams and crowded trams in favor of the famous hoverboard. Secondly, fresh pizzas prepared in few seconds - who can resist that? Thirdly, what was most important for us, we showed you our new Back To The Frontend website that demonstrates our frontend development abilities! We surely fell in love with it - check it out and let us know what you think!

    Everyone in our company knows that Paweł, a graphic designer working at Kopanito, has an amazing talent. This time he proved it with his new painting of Batman riding an elephant - have you ever seen something more beautiful than that? We have a lot of rooms in our office and there is an infinite number of combinations of superheroes riding animals - I personally would not be unhappy with painting of Spiderman riding an ostrich above my desk! ;) By the way, with this link I officially documented that my job sometimes comes hand in hand with checking out the most bizarre corners of the Internet -how can I not love what I do for living? ;)
