The underlying game stack is ES6 and Phaser, the HTML5 game framework. The application is adapted to Full HD touchscreens that are located in various stores in Belgium.
When it comes to the main character, Balance allows both choosing a ready-made model and customizing it with the use of six different designs: clown, Native American, princess, dinosaur, and wrestler. It’s also possible to combine the various elements of each model.
The goal of the game is to earn as many points as possible by dropping blocks that vary in weight and shape while constantly maintaining the balance of figures. Players decide on which side blocks should land - overloading one of them will lead to the fall of the character and end of the game. Proper distribution of the elements, and in particular playing on the limits of balance, allows gathering a significant amount of points.
Each character has individual facial expressions that show their reactions to casted block - for instance, wheezing, sweating, and gritting their teeth. Response to the weight is also depicted in the movement of hands, while the whole body will fall down and the block will be overturned when the game is lost.
The game is played at various levels of difficulty. With the increasing height of the tower comes the dynamic change of the background - at the beginning it shows earth and moving clouds, what then turns into space and such moving objects as satellites, UFO, or twinkling stars.
