Summer is halfway done, but the fun is not - summary of July

What's summer without a BBQ in the garden?

It's summer so there's no a better way to spend a Friday evening than on BBQ, watching #FIFAWorldCup, and games. 🍻🍖⚽ And that's what we did last week! If you want to check out for yourself how it went, go o our Facebook page, where plenty more photos await you ;) . . . #party #officeparty #aboutlastweekend #friday #bbq #besttime #poznan #afterhours #coworkers #colleagues #fun #happy #summer #happy #lovemyjob #webdeveloper #webdev #webdesign #design #programming #programmer #developer #webdesigner #designer #websitedesign #programmerslife #coding #reactjs #development

The month started quite fun for our bunch - we've gathered ourselves and our loved ones and went to Gescheft, where we've had a cheeky BBQ and watched some football. After all, July was all about the FIFA World Cup! All that in a beautiful garden in the centre of Poznań - a perfect spot for a great evening in the Summer, no matter which team wins the match! But let's not get FIFA-crazy - those of us, who are not very interested in team sports, decided to also have some competition-fueled rush and played a game of Heads Up (hence the confused faces in some of the photos). And if you know us, then you know that we can't say no to a healthy competition! We've clearly had a blast, what you can clearly see in the photos, but if you want to see more of our lovely mugs, head over to Facebook, we've posted plenty more there!

A little note goes a long way

Remember when @podolska_mania received half of a flower shop from her client?💐 Well, now it's time for @maciejmilk to be praised! His hard work during the development of the HappyScribe project didn't go unnoticed - he got a branded #tshirt👕, and, even more meaningful, a handwritten #thankyounote📝. Maciej, you truly are a role model! 🌟 . . . #gift #nicesurprise #happy #happyclient #bestjob #lovemyjob #softwarehouse #merixstudio #itindustry #poznan #webdeveloper #webdesign #design #programming #programmer #developer #webdesigner #programmerslife #coding #code #python #reactjs #development #webdev #webdevelopment #webstagram #developer #developerslife

We consider our developers to be the best software developers there are - the proof lies in the great reviews on our Clutch profile. However, it's always nice when clients are so impressed, that they want to show their gratitude for work well done. Last month Magda, our Business Analyst, received so many flowers, her spacious desk became a bit less spacious. This month Maciek, a developer working on the Happy Scribe project, also got a little surprise - a t-shirt and a handwritten note thanking him for his stellar work. Call me old-fashioned, but I consider it to be a great way to show the appreciation - after all, they could've just written an email! Maciek, it was indeed a job well done, you are a living legend in the office!

Swap a shirt for a... chair?

Todays #GeekShirtFriday becomes #GeekChairFriday. And when it comes to famous geeky chairs, there's one that matters - #theIronThrone. Our UX Designer @mariaborowyux right now is on vacation in Croatia, but we suspect she's actually there to train dragons and prepare for the fight with white walkers. After all, there's nothing she can't do and #winteriscoming! . . . #gameofthrones #got #hbo #housestark #targaryen #whitewalker #aryastark #sansastark #hodor #daenerystargaryen #got7 #programming #programmer #developer #webdesigner #designer #websitedesign #programmerslife💻 #programmerslife #coding #development #softwarehouse #poznan #poland #merixstudio #ITindustry

Sometimes we mess around a bit on Instagram with our #GeekShirtFAriday series and post some geeky socks or other garments instead of titular t-shirts. However, this moth Maria has stepped things up a notch and snapped a photo with a geeky chair! But, as you can see, it's not a regular chair that can be found in an office. Well, maybe if said office was in Westeros... Regardless, all I can say is that she seems natural on the Iron Throne, which is not surprising. With her extensive UX knowledge, she would plan the best strategies (and listen to everyone while doing so - looking at you, Cersei!), while her yoga skills would help her chill out after a day filled with typical Game of Thrones drama. Time to start the campaign - #Maria4theIronThrone!

Not a football player? Not a problem - you can still be a winner!

What's better than winning something AND starting a weekend at the same time? Nothing! Just take a look at the winners of our FIFA Fantasy League - with the awards (both in the glass and in the envelope), we bet they will have great Saturday and Sunday ;) . . . #fifa #fifaworldcup #fifaworldcup2018 #fifa18 #fantasyleague #fun #funatwork #happy #winner #football #worldcup #champion #champions #webdeveloper #webdev #webdesign #design #programming #programmer #developer #designer #programmerslife💻 #programmerslife #coding #development #softwarehouse #poznan #poland #merixstudio #ITindustry

As I've mentioned before (and you know very well if you haven't slept for the last 31 days), this month was all about football. Our office, just like the offices all over the world, couldn't stop talking about it. What's more, our tradition is to have our own fantasy league during the most important football events - we've started a couple of years ago and it doesn't seem to lose the popularity among our bunch. As usual, the players from our office varied in the knowledge of the sport - after all, all we needed to is guess who wins the match! As you can see in the photos, we've had four winners - Jacek, Maciej, Ania, and Maciej clearly either know their stuff when it comes to football or need to start playing the lottery more often! Congrats Guys, you did well!

Mirror, Mirror, on the... Internet?

Usually, in my monthly summaries I limited myself to Instagram posts, but guess what? We also have plenty of interesting stuff on our Facebook, so why not highlight them? Among some things worth mentioning is the profile of our software house that Mirror Review posted last week. In it our CEO Adam talked about the things we find the most important when it comes to company culture and what we plan to do in the future. Feel free to check it out - maybe you will get know us so well that you will predict what I'll write next month ;)
