Last week, we attended Flutter Europe and to tell the truth… we loved it! 🐦🧡 Here’s what we enjoyed the most: ⏰ impeccable event management, 🎁 welcoming atmosphere and amazing gift packs, 🤝 countless networking opportunities, 🎉 awesome after party with @dylanbeattie’s concert, 🧠 plethora of knowledge. Would we recommend taking part in Flutter Europe? Sure we would! #meetmerix #merixstudio #software #softwarehouse #networking #community #startup #hiring #development #developers #mobiledevelopers #softwaredevelopment #programming #programmer #dev #developer #coding #mobileapp #event #itevent #itidustry #colleagues #folks #learning #crossplatform #flutter #dart #warsaw #fluttereurope

As I said, we really like what we do. Some of us, however, started the year by… getting away from the office. All due to the Flutter Europe, which Anita, Miłosz, Kasia, and Andrzej attended. And judging by their review, it’s the event every Flutter Developer should attend! Our team agrees that among the highlights of the conference is the, and I quote, impeccable event management

Not only it had a welcoming atmosphere but it was held in the amazing Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw. The high rate also comes from the fact that all (filled with knowledge) presentations were held on time  - nothing spoils a great event that being behind the schedule! In addition to that, our team fell in love with the gift bags. Just take a look at those hats and you’ll know why! ;)

A great conference also means great networking opportunities, which there were plenty of at Flutter Europe. As an international event, it gave attendees the opportunity to meet influential figures from the IT world. Either between the talks or at the afterparty, which, from what we’ve heard, was epic and like nothing our guys have ever seen. So good job, Flutter Europe team, see you next year!

Houston, we have a solution!

Last Friday our Product Design team took on the challenge of creating a new website for showcasing a great unknown of cosmos.🌌 How they did that? By creating an internal workshop for a new NASA website!🚀 To make matters more fun, they worked on the basis of three personas: Stephen Hawking, science journalist, and… E.T.!👽 Armed with markers, newspaper clipings, and everything else you can dream of at a workshop, we got to work on creating storyboards and our visions of NASA’s homepage.👨‍💻 What’s the final effect of their work? Soon you’ll find out on our Behance! . . . #meetmerix #merixstudio #software #softwarehouse #teamwork #office #officelife #lovemyjob #webdevelopers #softwaredevelopment #programmer #dev #developer #colleagues #development #workshop #uiworkshop #uidesigner #webdesigner #webdesign #websitedesign #programming #programmer #dev #developer #webdeveloperslife #programmerslife #itidustry #learning

But don’t think for a minute that in January we only had fun if we left the office, there were plenty of great things to do in Poznań! Our Product Design team took care of that by giving us a challenge of… creating a new website for nonother than NASA! After all, is there a better way to spend a Friday afternoon than working out how to properly showcase a great unknown of cosmos? Well, maybe there is, I’m not here to judge! ;)

Our goal during the workshop was to create the website on the basis of three personas: Stephen Hawking, science journalist, and… E.T.! All of them are interested in space in some way or another, so I deem this choice right. Armed with markers, newspaper clippings, and everything else you can dream of at a workshop, we worked on creating storyboards and our visions of NASA’s homepage.👨‍💻 What’s the final effect of our work? Soon you’ll find out on our Behance and Dribbble!

Spilling the beans about our website

Apart from having fun on the fake projects for NASA, we also tend to work hard on some real stuff. In 2019 we spent plenty of time on our own website - as you know since you’re reading it, we underwent quite a makeover!

In January, we took the time to look back at our work and decided to tell you more about the change process. So now you can find out what was the idea behind the key visual, what tech stack did we use to provide high performance and make our ambitious concepts become reality, and what other challenges we encountered and how we managed to deal with them. Among other things ;) So check out the article written by Magda to learn more about our work!

Starting the year with a little boost of confidence thanks to Clutch

Speaking about work! As you know, we pride ourselves on our Clutch rating. After all, is there a better way to know that you’re doing a great job than by checking out what your clients have to say about you? Don’t think so!

That’s why we were extremely happy that at the beginning of 2020 we were recognized by Clutch as the best custom software, web, and React Native developers in Poland! We were also named the best Python & Django developers in the world - if we could burst with pride, we would! What’s more, the list doesn’t end here - check out Patrycja’s article to learn more about our recent accomplishments!

Planning to meet all of you

You may (incorrectly) think that in January we were slacking off when it comes to our own events. Oh, how mistaken you would be! We love meeting all of you and giving you a chance to learn something new, so in January we spent plenty of time on organizing various meetups.

As you can see above, you will have five opportunities to high five us, regardless of whether you’re interested in frontend or backend development, product design or anything else. The first opportunity happens today - see you in Alibi Club at the sixth edition of Front.radar!
