Meet Merix: Mateusz - Django Developer

As you've already known if you read the teaser (did you?), Mateusz is one of our Django Developers. He's probably shaking in his boots right now and wondering what kind of his dirt I could dig for the purposes of this article. My little birds are working hard to get the hottest news about subjects of my interviews so that some usually looks forward new post and others (especially Merix folks that got over the interview) are really scared. Mateusz probably can be afraid because he showed himself during one of his first company parties. I can only say that he rather can't hold his drinks :D I'll just leave the rest of the story a mystery. Besides, Mateusz might don't look like one, but he's a fan of metal music. In fact, he is a big fan of music in general and after hours plays the drums. He's also a DevOps lover what you can see reading the following interview and is passionate about tampering with servers. What is more, I found out that Mateusz just loves to live in a cost-effective way. So it's not surprising that he also doesn't like to waste his time - he's the early bird that gets up at sunrise and learns new programming things. Meet Mateusz - the natural-born dev.

  • Tell us something about yourself.
I’m International Business graduate that is developing web apps, and once used to play in a reggae band. So it can be seen, I’ve always had a wide range of interests. However, recently I’m focusing only on a few areas such as web development and DevOps. I’m also improving my fitness and drumming skills.
  • What are your main responsibilities at Merixstudio?
I’m Python Developer specialising in Django web framework. So I develop web applications in this technology. Mainly I focus on REST APIs for single page application recently. My every-day workday includes meetings with the team or clients, estimation of projects, and of course coding. I also do some DevOps works such as deploying apps to servers and improving the performance of apps.
  • What is important to you while working?
I enjoy working with a laptop, because it guarantees me freedom of choice where I want to work, and I can take it with me to meetings. Besides, the essential thing to achieve 150% of concentration is a good pair of headphones and some great music. Also, ideally for me and for my productivity are two or four-hour time blocks when I’m not disturbed by anything or no one. However, in real life, it sometimes doesn’t work. I’m sort of productivity geek :)

  • What was the biggest challenge you faced while working at the Merixstudio?

  • What cool things have you worked on at Merixstudio?
