   The crew from MK Bowling probably knows all of us by name - we visited them so many times that they must’ve learned who is who in our group! But it obviously doesn’t mean that we are too lazy to come up with new ideas for integration parties - we just like a (friendly!) competition. I have the proof that we’re definitely not fed up with this kind of activity - there’s a video summary that will show you what happens when we combine eating pizza, drinking beer, and throwing heavy balls. ;)

    Our Business Developer Michał can’t stay in one place for a long time. If you ever attended industry events in Poznań, then you probably have seen him. It seems like our city is not enough for this ball of energy because he packed his bags and went to Berlin, where he attended the e-Commerce Berlin EXPO 2017 and took part in many interesting presentations. He even found some time to visit the German Museum of Technology.Michał, teach us your ways! ;) But I don't have to describe his adventures here - just check out his summary on our blog.

    Here’s the thing that we haven't planned, but were quite excited for. Last year we won the Special Jury Award, so we knew what it means to be recognised by EB Kreator. However, we couldn’t be sure that this year we will also get as lucky as in 2016. It turns out that our hard work paid off and we took home the Best Career Page Award. But once again there’s no need for me to talk about it here - you can read about our win in Anita's summary on our blog.

    Our PR team consists of two journalists - me and Anita. We obviously write a lot on a daily basis. However, we wanted more and inspired by British The Sun and Polish Fakt created a newspaper! But don’t think that it’s filled only with alternative facts - it also has a horoscope, sports section, advice from editors, and much more! I have to admit that it was immensely fun to write over the top articles about our coworkers and not worry about such unimportant thing as accuracy. I couldn't do that while editing articles for the code&tools section on our blog. ;) The final product seemed to be really liked by the rest of Merixstudio - people clearly understood our “tongue in cheek” intention and laughed at our silly jokes. One person even declared that one copy would be sent home for their mother to read - talk about the instant success! :)

    Who said that you have to wait until after hours to celebrate Valentine's Day? Well, no one in our office, that’s for sure! We didn’t want to make the whole affair overly sweet and barf-worthy (no wilted flowers or love poems in sight!), so we decided to walk back the memory lane to high school and created the Valentine’s mail! The idea was simple - we printed some quirky cards and then distributed them at the end of the day. It turned out that people really liked it and sent their colleagues some words of encouragement, congratulations on a job well done, or even maybe some light trolling (I didn’t read them, so I cannot be sure;)).

    February was definitely the month of going out for us! Some of the events we attended were Girls Who Test, which was dedicated to QA recruitment, Meet.js, where we listened to presentations on React and Facebook, and Let's Manage IT for (surprise, surprise) managers in the IT industry. However, the winner of our February outings has to be DevQuiz, which was organised by our friends from Apptension! We had the possibility to compete against other companies from Poznań when it comes to the knowledge of everything related to our industry (and more) and I’m proud to announce that we came second - quite a good score! Now we have our eye on the highest place on the podium. ;)

Małgorzata displayed her geekiness when she created the beautiful drawings for our Christmas party, so we were not surprised when she showed up at work in this magnificent t-shirt.     February is when the whole Poland goes crazy for doughnuts. And by crazy I mean really crazy - people stand in long lines to buy them! Luckily we thought ahead and ordered quite a big amount for our coworkers to munch on during work. Our people didn’t have to stand in the rain just to gain a little bit of weight - all they had to do is go to the kitchen, avoid looking at the fruit basket, grab a doughnut, and enjoy the intake of empty calories. Yum!
