#1 Dog days are NOT over!

The 1st of July is a Polish Dog Day. As you know, we really, really like dogs so that we couldn’t ignore this. However, inviting one pupper to visit us, regardless how wonderful, wasn’t festive enough for such an important holiday. That’s why we invited two of them! ;) But don’t think that it was a day of slacking around for Gacek and Hefajstos - they were assigned a task of reminding everyone with their cuteness about the fundraising for Poznań’s animal shelter. And if you’re wondering whether they succeeded, just look at those silly creatures - of course, they did! Thanks to the generosity of the whole company (and the nice people from Leopardus Posnania that gave us a discount) we were able to buy a whole car trunk of food and treats!
#2 Maciek, you’re the real MVP!

This month Maciej, one of our Project Managers, visited Plus Jeden Poznań to give a presentation during an event organized by Startup Community Poznań. He talked about MVP (Minimum Viable Product), networked, and swept people off their feet with his enormous knowledge. :) But Maciek doesn’t need me to describe what he has said - there’s a video of the presentation about MVP (with English subtitles!) he gave some time ago for his teammates!

Happiness can be found in the smallest of spaces… if you’re a cat. When you’re a human, you will probably need more room to feel comfortable, hence our recent move to Małachowskiego. The new and improved office size, however, turned out to be perfect for a feline! One of our newest coworkers, Asia, brought her kitten Albus to check places that were unreached for the animals that visited us previously. As a proud namesake of the greatest wizard of all time, Mr. Albus took his job very seriously and investigated desks, windowsills; you name it. He even decided that he may try his best at recruitment and tried to steal Maciek’s chair. As we know from the books, the original Albus might’ve not been the best when it comes to hiring new people, so we’re not surprised that Maciek was unfazed by this sudden competition.

Wiesiek, our Chief of Geekiness, is well known for three things - his t-shirts, his love for games of all kinds, and his friendly attitude toward everyone. Let me tell you, if Wiesiek for some reason doesn’t like you, then you know you did something wrong with your life and need to change ASAP. I’m happy to announce that we passed his “human decency” test! He must like us since this month he decided to bring his Nintendo Switch and allowed other people to play. What a champ, sharing the joy of Mario Cart with his co-workers! Just look how mesmerized everyone is - seems like we have more that one MVP in the office. ;)

Luiza, Team Leader of QA Team, is a female counterpart of Wiesiek when it comes to having a wardrobe filled with geeky shirts. However, one of the newest additions to her team, Agnieszka, may steal her crown of Queen Geek of Merixstudio! Or some can think so, but as you can see real queens fix each other's crowns. Agnieszka and Luiza assured me that their matching Sailor Moon tank-tops were a mere coincidence, and seeing their glee I don’t have a reason not to believe them. There’s no place for asking who wore it best; both of them won. ;)

The weather may not scream "Party!" but the rain never bothered us anyway, so we decided to go out. You might've even joined us during the party via Instagram Live! Piwna Stopa was not a new place for us (we visited them exactly one year ago), so it was a bit like hanging out with old friends. ;) As you can see on the pictures, we had a blast - how we could not when great food, even better friends, and craft beverages were involved? I, however, don't have to describe everything in detail - there's a video summary of the outing that will do it for me.

You may think that my summaries of the month shed more light on what's happening in our software house. But they're nothing compared to the internal newspaper we publish! In it, you can find the whole, ugly truth - who's a gangster and what are the secrets that hide behind our doors. It even has horoscope and a culinary section! ;) I'm happy to announce that the ad published in this month's edition made one of our coworkers scream with joy since it included her guinea pig! Is there a better recommendation than that?

We may seem to only enjoy great web projects and going to pubs, but there are also a lot of runners in our office. With that in mind, say hello to our newly established Merixstudio Running Team! From now on you can meet our people in various sports events (as well as during their workouts) - it won't be difficult to spot them with those snazzy new t-shirts! ;)
