Marcin, known as Maja, is a master of answering any questions - minimum words and maximum transmission. Some people are shocked that he can crack not only his knuckles but all bones in his body. It doesn't matter whether it’s his fingers, elbows or shoulders. Although he never stops smiling and is extremely friendly towards his colleagues, Maja is quite fond of showing everyone the middle finger (this may be the effect of busted knuckles?). I don’t think that anybody will be surprised when I say that Marcin is not only another Marcin in our company, but he also is a part of our Card Games Club (yes, there are a lot of people in this group!). He also is known as a fan of Harry Potter.
- Tell us something about yourself.
My name is Marcin, and I was born and raised in Poznań. I’m quite calm and like to observe my surroundings.
- What are your main responsibilities at Merxistudio?
I’m a Frontend Developer and I work with Magento.
- How do you work? What is important to you while working?
I like to have all my task enlisted at the beginning of my day, thanks to which I can avoid stagnation. When I start working on one project, I try to finish it before I move on to the next task.
- Tell us something about your beginnings in the company.
Together with Mateusz and Marcin I started working in Merixstudio in July 2014. At first, we were working on test projects we received from Paweł. When those were done, we were given more complicated tasks that included Magento. Since then I create templates for shops and I like Magento more and more with each day.
- What have you learned while working in Merixstudio?
I learned to work in a large group of people - before Merixstudio I always worked alone or in a small team. Of course, I also learned new skills, thanks to which I can perform more and more demanding projects.
- What do you like most about working at Merixstudio?
I like the fact that in MerixStudio I can collaborate with the team. I can always ask how my colleagues would resolve some issues and therefore I can listen to different points of view and learn about different solutions.
- What was the biggest challenge you faced while working at the Merixstudio?
The biggest challenge for me was starting to like Magento :D At first it appeared to be chaotic and incomprehensible, but with each project, it became easier and easier to work with.
- Which project did you like the most from the ones you worked on in Merixstudio?
So far the most exciting for me was the project we are working on at the moment (and therefore I can’t yet talk too much about it). We are working on something for RKW, the German research institute that works for the development of rationalization and innovation in business. I picked this project because there is a lot of interesting scripts that I had to develop.
- What was your first contact with web technologies? When did you make a decision that you want to work in IT?
In fact, I was interested in the IT industry even when I was a child. Probably because I was lucky enough to have a computer since I was born. In 6th grade of elementary school I became interested in HTML and since then I wanted to create websites professionally.
- What do you think is most difficult (and most interesting) in your work as Frontend Developer?
The hardest part for is making sure that every browser displays websites in the same way. However, the most interesting in my opinion is the creation of JavaScript.
- First thing you do when you arrive at the office.
I say hello to my teammates.
- iOS or Android?

- Your favorite hero from childhood is...
Batman.
- Favorite place in Poznań.

- Beer or vodka?
It depends on the meeting.
- Favorite sport.
I like playing volleyball and sometimes I even watch some big matches. I also really like e-tournaments which (thanks to great commentators) are really fun to watch.
- Which website do you visit the most?
Google.
- If you could only visit one website for the rest of your life, what site would that be?
Google, thanks to which I could visit every website.
- If you could have your dream job, what it would be?
I never thought about it, but right now I’m doing something I wanted to do since I was a child.
Merixstudio is filled with many great people - check out who they are in the interviews published in the People&Events section on our blog.
